Tools required for disassembly: iPhone tool kit

(If you are replacing a badly cracked screen, cover it in sticky tape before starting). First turn your phone off and remove the sim tray by pushing your sim removal tool into the hole circled below. If you don't have the sim removal tool, use something like a paperclip.Next remove the 2 pentalobe screws, circled below.Now attach a suction cup near the bottom of the screen, as shown below. If your screen is cracked, try and place the suction cup in an area which isn't damaged, but note that removal of the screens needs to start at the bottom end.Pull the suction cup up and you should lift the screen enough to allow you to get the edge of a plastic tool under the edge of the screen, as pictured below. Lever up both bottom corners of the screen.Lift the screen up slightly and you'll see the ribbon cable for the home button. See the next stage for a close up image.To disconnect this cable, carefully lever up from the point shown below, using a flat head screwdriver. Be very careful not to damage this cable, because although it is inexpensive to replace, the fingerprint recognition feature will not work with a replacement part.With the home button cable disconnected, lift the screen up and you'll see a metal cover held in place by 4 screws. Remove these screws and the metal cover (the EMI shield). Make sure the screws go back in the same position they were removed from, particularly the top right screw, which is non magnetic.You now have access to three ribbon cables from the screen (only two are visible at first). Each of these cables has a plug and socket like connection, so lever each up, away from the circuit board.With the first two cables disconnected, you have access to the third cable, indicated below. Again, this has a plug and socket like connection, so lever this up, away from the circuit board. You can now lift the screen free.Below you can see the screen, separated from the rest of the phone.To remove the home button, start by removing the 2 screws circled below.Below is a close up of the two screws.Once you have removed the two screws, you'll have access to a third screw, circled below. Remove this screw and the metal plate which sits behind the home button.The metal plate has now been removed. To remove the home button, first apply some heat from a hot air gun or hairdryer to soften the adhesive holding it in place. Pay particular attention to the cable indicated by the arrow as this is quite well stuck down. Be very careful not to damage this cable when you remove the home button, because although it is inexpensive to replace, the fingerprint recognition feature will not work with a replacement part.Now push the home button though from the front of the screen. If the part is stuck, apply more heat and carefully push the part free. Do not use force.The home button and cable are now free. If you are replacing the screen but your new screen does not come with the earpiece, front facing camera or proximity sensor, then you'll need to remove them from your old screen. To remove the earpiece, remove the 2 screws circled below then lift the part free.The earpiece and its metal cover are now free. Next remove the 5 circled screws.To detach the flex ribbon cable for the front facing camera and proximity sensor, first apply some heat with a hot air gun or hair dryer for around 30 seconds, which will soften the adhesive holding it in place, then use a plastic tool to carefully lift the cable free, from the point indicated by the arrow below. Be careful as this cable is easily damaged.Lift the metal heat shield away from the back of the screen. The front facing camera and proximity sensor will still be connected to the heat shield, but if you wish to remove this part, simply peel back the black sticker indicated by the arrow.The front facing camera and proximity sensor are now free. If you only want to replace the screen, you don't need to follow the guide any further, simply reattach the parts to your new screen and reverse the whole procedure for reassembly. This cable has a plug and socket like connection, so lever up, away from the circuit board.The battery is held in place by two adhesive strips on the underside of the battery. To remove the adhesive strips there is a pull tab, indicated by the screwdriver below. To remove the battery, first cut the pull tab in the middle, where the arrow below indicates. You'll then have a pull tab for the left side of the battery and a pull tab for the right side.Slowly pull the left pull tab and as the adhesive strip stretches, keep adjusting your grip so you are always pulling a short piece. If you stretch the cable too long, it will snap and the battery will be stuck. The adhesive strip runs the full length of the battery, so removing this adhesive strip will take some time and patience.Keep pulling the adhesive strip slowly until it is completely free then do the same for the other side of the battery. Then simply lift the battery out. If you snap the adhesive strips and the battery is stuck firmly in place, slide something thin and flat, like an old credit card, under the battery. This alternative method requires some force which may result in damage to the battery, so it is much better to use the pull tab method.The battery is now free. Now disconnected the 3 ribbon cables indicated by the arrows below. Again, each ribbon cable has a plug and socket like connection, so disconnect them in the same way as the others. There is also a small cable which needs to be disconnected, circled below. This is slightly different to the others but connects in the same plug-socket manner.Next remove the 8 screws, circled below.The circuit board will now be loose, although it will still be attached to a ribbon cable on the reverse side of the board. Lift the circuit board over from right to left.You can now disconnect the circled cable. Again, the cable has a plug and socket like connection, so lever it away from the circuit board. Next remove the two circled screws and you'll be able to lift the camera out.Below is a close up of the two screws.The camera has now been removed.Now remove the 7 circled screws. You'll be able to lift the vibrating motor free at this point.The vibrating motor is now free. The flex ribbon cable for the volume, mute and power buttons is held in place with an adhesive backing. Starting from the point indicated by the arrow below, carefully peel this cable away from the housing. The cable is particularly well stuck where the power button is, so you may need to use some heat from a hair dryer to soften the adhesive holding it in place.The flex ribbon cable is now free, along with the volume, mute and power buttons.Below is a close up of the flex ribbon cable for the volume, mute and power buttons. If you are replacing this part, you'll need to detach the metal frame, which is held in place with adhesive tape and can be peeled away from the ribbon cable.You can now remove the antenna cable. First apply some heat from a hot air gun or hair dryer to soften the adhesive holding it in place, then carefully lift from the point indicated by the arrow below and you should be able to peel this cable away from the housing. Don't force this cable as it is easily torn.The antenna cable is now free. To remove the headphone jack socket, microphone, lightening port and loud speaker, remove the 7 circled screws.You can now lift the headphone jack socket, microphone, lightening port and loud speaker free. Some adhesive tape holds the part in place, but it should come away with very little force. The loud speaker can be separated from the other parts, as shown below.If you are replacing the entire housing, you may need to remove all the remaining small parts to fit to your new housing. These parts are all either held in place with double sided adhesive tape or screws. Disassembly is now complete. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly. Tools required for disassembly: Torx 4 screwdriver, plastic tool such as a guitar plectrum or credit card.

First remove your back cover, battery, sim and memory card.Use a hair dryer or hot air gun to heat the chrome bezel. Then use something like the edge of a credit card, to lever free the bezel, starting near the bottom of the phone.Carefully lift the bezel away from the phone.With the bezel removed, your phone should look like below. Next remove the 8 screws circled below. The two at the top and the two at the bottom of the phone are silver screws. The other four screws are black. Make sure the screws go back in their correct place.Now lift the battery compartment over, from left to right. The battery compartment will still be attached by a ribbon cable, so be careful.The battery compartment should now be loose but still attached by a ribbon cable. The connector for this cable, circled below, needs to be disconnected. This attaches like a plug and socket, so just lever it up to unplug.The battery compartment should now be free, as shown below. Two more ribbon connectors, circled, need to be disconnected. Each attaches like a plug and socket so just lever them up to unplug. Another ribbon connector, circled below, now needs to be disconnected. Again, this attaches like a plug and socket, so just lever it up to unplug.The circuit board can now be lifted away, as you can see below. To remove the LCD screen, lift it carefully from the point circled then pull the screen in the direction shown by the arrow.With the LCD screen removed, your phone should look like below.The earpiece can be levered free and replaced if needed.If you want to remove the frame from the touch screen, heat around the edge of the screen using a hair dryer or hot air gun for approximately 60 seconds then use something thin and flat to lever the two parts away from each other.With the touch screen and frame separated, your screen should look like below. The buttons will now also be loose. Disassembly is now complete. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly. Below you can see the sim removal pin and the iPhone tool kit required for disassemble, which is available to order from our site. If you are replacing a badly cracked screen, cover it in sticky tape before starting.First turn your phone off. Now remove the sim tray by pushing your sim removal tool into the hole circled below. If you don't have the sim removal tool, use something like a paperclip.The sim tray has now been removed.Next remove the 2 pentalobe screws, circled below.Now attach a suction cup near the bottom of the screen, as shown below. Lever up both bottom corners of the screen then run your plastic tool along both sides of the screen.Lift the screen up like below and note the metal shield which covers the cable that connects the battery to the circuit board, indicated below.Now remove the two screws, circled below, and lift the metal cover away.The two screws and the metal shield have been removed and you can now access the cable that connects the battery to the circuit board. The cable has a plug and socket (press fit) type connection. Disconnect the cable by carefully levering it up, away from the circuit board.The cable from the battery has now been disconnected.Looking at the other end of the phone you'll see a metal cover held in place by 5 screws. Remove these screws and the metal cover (the EMI shield). Make sure the screws go back in the same position they were removed from as the screws are different sizes and can damage the circuit board if replaced in the wrong position.The EMI shield has now been removed, as shown below. You now have access to four ribbon cables from the screen (only two are visible at first). Each of these cables has a plug and socket like connection, so lever each up, away from the circuit board. With the first two cables disconnected, you have access to the third and fourth cable. Again, these have a plug and socket like connection, so lever up, away from the circuit board. You can then lift the screen free.Below you can see the screen, separated from the rest of the phone.Now turn the screen over and remove all the screws you can see.Now carefully disconnect the cable from the home button. Again, this cable has a plug and socket like connection, so lever up to disconnect. Be very careful not to damage the home button or cable, because although it is inexpensive to replace, the fingerprint recognition feature will not work with a replacement part and you will have a problem if you need to restore the phone.The cable from the home button has now been disconnected. You now need to remove the large metal plate from the back of the screen. Note that the area circled below will be stuck down with double sided adhesive, so first use heat from a hot air gun or hairdryer to soften the adhesive then lift the metal plate free.The metal plate has now been removed.Now return to the home button. To remove the home button, first apply some heat from a hot air gun or hairdryer to soften the adhesive holding the cable, indicated by the arrow, in place. Carefully peel the cable away from the back of the screen. If the cable is firmly stuck, use more heat until it comes away without force. Again, be very careful not to damage this cable. Once the cable is free, push the home button though from the front of the screen. If the part is stuck, apply more heat and carefully push the part free. Do not use force.The home button is now free.If your new screen does not come with the earpiece, front facing camera or proximity sensor, then you'll need to remove them from your old screen. First lift the front facing camera, indicated by the arrow below, from right to left.You now have access to the earpiece, indicated by the arrow below, which can simply be lifted free. To detach the flex ribbon cable for the front facing camera and proximity sensor, first apply some heat with a hot air gun or hair dryer for around 30 seconds, which will soften the adhesive holding it in place. The cable should now come away without force. If the part is stuck firmly, use more heat and a plastic tool to carefully lift the cable free.The earpiece, front facing camera and proximity sensor are now free. Now simply reattach the parts to your new screen and reverse the whole procedure for reassembly. iPhone 7 - 5 awesome features we can expect

iPhone, though aspirational, has constantly wowed us all with its functionality. Every year, with every new launch it raises our expectations and fulfills them as well. After a successful year 2015 which saw the launch of iPhone 6, we now wait with bated breath for the iPhone 7 to be launched this year. By now all you iPhone fans will have read through all the rumors, expectations and expert analyses that is out there to build up your own hopes about what the latest iPhone will have to offer. Though some of the expectations like 3D screens and flexible models are clearly a little farfetched, there are definitely some features that are logical enough for us to hope for. Here is a list of 5 amazing features that we can realistically expect from the new iPhone.

1. The screen
   There are rumors of 2 screens sizes, a 4.7-inch regular one and a 5.5-inch model which will be the 7S. Though a third size seems to be the norm, it is not certain whether there will be an iPhone 7 mini with a 4-inch screen. We can also look forward to a higher screen resolution though it might be difficult to top the previous one. Apple could also be switching to OLED panels for the next models.
2. The form
   The iPhone 7 is expected to have a substantial redesign of its form. Apart from the absence of the headphone jack which will make it thinner, there are chances of it losing the antenna bands and the camera bump. There are certain rumors of an edge to edge screen for the iPhone 7 as well.
3. 1. The camera
      iPhone picture quality and camera resolutions have always topped the list and there's no reason why it should stop now. We would expect nothing less than 16mp on iPhone 7. But since it's Apple, it might work its magic behind the screen (or camera) to improve the picture quality rather than just increase the number of megapixels.
   2. The Storage
      There is talk within the expert community that the iPhone 7 would probably start with a 32GB model thereby eradicating the 16GB one.
   3. The other 'works'
      • Wireless charging was supposed to be up and running with the 6s model but it didn't pan out. So, we are hoping it will be rolled out with iPhone 7.
      • Waterproof, though talked about a lot, does not seem to be on the table for this launch. iPhone 7 could be splash resistant but that's about it. There are talks of it having 'wet finger support'too which means you'll be able to work with iPhone 7 even when your fingers are wet.
   Though there are rumors of many other iPhone models to surface soon, the one we all are eagerly waiting for is definitely the iPhone 7. So feel free to indulge your imagination and dream a little bigger. Apple might just surprise you!
